In the Community

Stoneworks commitment to the communities in which we live and work is motivated by our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen and our desire to be a good neighbour. We continue to support several charities, sports teams and events. Some of the charities that we continue to support with our time and fundraising events are:

Children’s Wish Foundation

Children’s Wish Foundation: The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is dedicated to working within the community to fulfill heart felt wishes for children diagnosed with a high-risk, life-threatening illness.

Voices Missions

Voices Missions: Voices missions is to ensure that all hearing impaired children have the right to develop their ability to listen and speak and have access to services which will enable them to listen and speak.

The Ottawa Food Bank

The Ottawa Food Bank: The Ottawa Food Bank acts on behalf of those service agencies in the National Capital Region distributing food directly to the needy by arranging for, collecting, processing, storing and distributing to such service agencies the food they need of an appropriate quality, quantity and variety and in an equitable, timely and cost-effective way.

Candlelighters

Candlelighters: Candlelighters is a not-for-profit volunteer organization that provides comfort and resources to young cancer patients being treated in Eastern Ontario and to those they depend on for strength and support.

Rogers House

Rogers House: The hockey world and countless others lost a beloved coach, friend and mentor in 2003 as Ottawa Senators assistant coach Roger Neilson passed away after a long-term battle with cancer. To honour Roger, and his lifetime commitment of helping others, the Sens Foundation, the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) forged a partnership to establish Roger’s House, Ontario’s first pediatric respite and palliative care home dedicated to enhancing the comfort and quality of life of children and families in a time of need.

Sens Foundation

Sens Foundation: Founded in 1998, the Sens Foundation utilizes the unique resources of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children and youth in the eastern Ontario and western Quebec. The mission of the Sens Foundation is to leverage and provide both financial and in-kind support to registered charitable organizations whose programs focus on improving the quality of life for children and youth. We address needs in the areas of education, health, and recreation. Our vision at the Foundation is “for greater goals” in meeting these needs.

The Stoneworks team and families have been touched by many local charities that we also continue to support; The Canadian Cancer Society, The Salvation Army, CHEO, The Snowsuit Fund, Single Mothers of Ottawa, Crohn’s and Colitis Association, Make a Wish Foundation, Canadian Red Cross.
